Twice the joy

Little Haroon Abdullah was due today but as God had other plans for him he happens to be 12 days old today. I was lucky enough to spend a day with him. His grandparents, sister and dad have been out and I got to be with him all day which was a wonderful experience because people are always worried about leaving new borns alone with their moms so young so early.

Who is this little person

He looks like the boy version of his sister. Besides taking in, processing and wasting out food he also raises his head and looks around at his environment. He doesn't seem to mind his sister shouting around him and she loves him a lot, too. At first she was sad that the lime light was shifting a little. Now she is adjusting real good. I want for them to be good friends and siblings. To love and look out for one another to teach and guide and be true...

I try to look into his eyes and try to imagine what the future will be like for the four of us. Will there be more? Will they be happy and pious and educated? Dreams of parents are as deep as the deepest oceans and as wide as the skies.

My whole life seems complete now and my children make me feel proud and content. The blessings of Allah cannot be counted.
