15 Months - Eat it up!
I have a new mission in life and that is to be able to get a solid meal into jannah. She does all the lovely things like "Oh Oh" and clapping her hands everytime she hears the words "good girl" or saying a cute "ma'ma" in her baby voice making it very hard for us to be tough with her. but eating is a big "no no"!
Here are some tips for those who are in the same boat as I:
- Babies dont like baby food. so try a variety of healthy grown up's food.... dont fully mash it... babies like to bite up things. (Pay close attention - choking hazard)
- Babies love to use their hands: try giving him/her a plate with some food broken up like bread, rice or even noodles.
- Distract him/her with something they like watching on tv or youtube.... may be another baby eating will triiger some apetite.
- Say "good job" everytime he/she take a big mouth and clap and cheer
- Take a break. Read something or give them a sip of water.
- Pretend to feed others including soft toys and dolls (this wont work for long)
- Reward good food habits with juice or a sweet. Do not give it until you know they had a stomach full
- Use a high chair
- talk to the baby, eat, sing, do whatever it takes to get him/her wanting to eat with you
